PRESIDENT'S

MESSAGE

Dear Members, Friends, and Supporters of ASIE,

It is a distinct honor and a profound privilege to address you as the President of the American Society of Indian Engineers and Architects (ASIE) for 2026. As we embark on this landmark year—our 32nd Anniversary—I am deeply inspired by the talent, heritage, and professional excellence that define our community here in Houston.

 Reflecting on our Legacy
Our transition into this new chapter was marked by a truly significant induction ceremony. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Commissioner Lesley Briones; her participation was not only an honor but a testament to the strong, respected relationships ASIE continues to cherish within the Greater Houston area.

We owe a debt of gratitude to our 2025 President, Aravind Nimma, along with the outgoing Board and Advisory Council. Their diligent efforts over the past year have set a high standard for innovation and collaboration. It is my promise to you that we will continue to uphold these values, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in engineering and architecture.

 Building Community and Connection
On a personal note, my journey with ASIE began shortly after I moved to Houston in 2019. Joining the board in 2020, I quickly realized that ASIE is more than just a professional society—it is a community. In a new city where I had few ties, this organization provided the mentorship and friendship that accelerated my career and made Houston feel like home.
As President, my vision is to provide that same sense of belonging for all our members, especially those new to our organization or the industry. We are fortunate this year to have an infusion of dynamic, young talent on our Board of Directors, complemented by the wisdom of our esteemed Advisory Council.

 Our Vision for 2026
This year, we will focus on three core pillars:
Professional Excellence: Curating a series of unique events that set a new precedent for technical and leadership development.
Educational Impact: Strengthening the ASIE Scholarship Program. Investing in the next generation of designers and engineers is the cornerstone of our progress.
Community Engagement: Celebrating our members and collaborating with other organizations for broader community engagement.

 Looking Ahead:
We are kicking off the year with momentum! I invite you to join us for our upcoming events this year.

I also want to acknowledge my employer, AUC Group, for their unwavering support and for allowing me the latitude to serve this organization so deeply over the years.

In closing, thank you for entrusting me with this responsibility. Together, let’s make our 32nd year a memorable chapter of growth, success, and meaningful collaboration.

Warm regards,
Alok Shah
President, ASIE 2026
