Apoorv Kumar


Apoorv has been an active member of ASIE since 2014. He has served as Young Member Committee Chair in 2015 & 2016 and has been part of Scholarship committee and Chair for IT Committee in 2018 and 2019. He is a Board of Director at ASIE since 2018. Apoorv Kumar has over seven years of experience in Construction Industry. He has a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering and Masters degree in Construction Management from Texas A&M University. He also holds a Masters degree in Project Management from Harrisburg University. Apoorv currently works for PMG,LLC as a Senior Project Manager, providing design, construction management, inspection and consulting services in the Greater Houston Area. He has worked on water treatment plants, sewage, drainage, roadways, parks and educational projects for several public agencies and private industry clients.

Raghu Veturi, P.E.


Raghu Veturi has 18 years of progressive experience in handling transportation and traffic engineering projects. Raghu has in-depth knowledge of practical concepts and applications of transportation engineering and planning. His expertise includes analyzing and designing traffic control systems, intersections, street lighting evaluation, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). He has a PE license and is licensed in Texas, Florida, and Ohio. He currently works as a Director of Traffic & Systems Engineering in Gunda Corporation. Raghu enjoys playing tennis and running outdoors. Raghu obtained his M.S. in Civil Engineering from University of Massachusetts and B.S. in Civil Engineering from Acharya Nagarjuna University in India. He has been ASIE member since 2014 and served as a Board of Director, Programs Committee Chair and Treasurer.

Aravind Marella, P.E.


Aravind Marella has been a member of ASIE since 2011. Aravind is a civil/environmental engineer by profession. In July 2018, he started STAR GEOENVIRONMENTAL, LLC (STAR), an environmental engineering and consulting firm, after working in the consulting industry for 16 years. He earned master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago; holds PE, PMP and Envision Sustainability Professional credentials. Aravind loves to devote his time to his family, stays connected with his parents in India and plays cricket when time permits. Aravind has always enjoyed being part of ASIE and is very enthusiastic about serving the ASIE needs.

Vishakha Kaushik, P.E.


Ms. Vishakha Kaushik is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas working for AECOM’s Water Group on various water/wastewater treatment, storage and conveyance projects for municipal and industrial clients. Ms. Kaushik graduated with her Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2016. She received her Bachelor of Technology degree in Environmental Engineering from Delhi Technological University (formerly Delhi College of Engineering), India. Vishakha has been an active member of ASIE since 2017. She served as the Young Member Committee Chair for the organization in 2018; Membership Chair in 2019 and 2020; and currently serves as the Secretary. Ms. Kaushik has also served on ASIE’s 25th Gala Committee, Scholarship Committee and as the Holiday Event Committee Chair.


Varenya Mehta, E.I.T.

Varenya Mehta is a Water Engineer at KIT Professionals, Inc. He has 4 years of experience in Air, Water and Wastewater Engineering and Research. Currently, his focus is on Water Transmission Modeling. He received his Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign where he also performed research on carbon sequestration from ambient air using amines. In his free time, Varenya loves to facilitate Yoga and Meditation camps across USA and has traveled to 9 national parks in the last one year. His ultimate goal is to support the education of multiple low-income students in the rural region of Laddakh, India and start a scholarship for them. He has served in the Scholarship Committee and as the IT Committee Chair in 2020. In 2021, he will be the IT Committee Chair and Programs Co-Chair.

Aravind Nimma, P.E.

Aravind Nimma is Project Manager at Gunda Corporation, LLC. He is licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas, Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) and Envision Sustainability Professional (Env Sp.). Mr. Nimma has a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from University College of Engineering, Osmania University. He has over 12 years of experience in various facets of Civil Engineering on projects across the Greater Houston area. He has worked on Public Works, Land Development and Site Development projects involving hydraulics & hydrology, drainage design, sanitary design, waterline design, wastewater pump stations, grading and soil sciences. He is an active member and volunteer of ASIE. He currently serves as Board of Director and Programs Committee Chair for year 2020.

Sekhar Ambadapudi , P.E

Alok Shah, P.E.

Alok is a Water Engineer with Arcadis working on several water/wastewater conveyance, storage, treatment, and pumping station projects mainly for municipal clients in the Texas and Arkansas region. Prior to moving to Houston, Alok worked on a EPA Consent decree based SSO program for the city of Baton Rouge with Jacobs engineering. Alok graduated with a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Georgia. Alok looks forward to serving on the ASIE Board and getting more involved with the organization.

Daya R. Dayananda, Ph.D, P.E., C.F.M

Dr. Daya Dayananda is working for HVJ Associates as Houston Civil Services Manager focusing on business development and management of roadway engineering, drainage engineering and water/wastewater engineering projects. He has about 27 years of industry experience working in both public and private sectors in the Houston region and is a member of ASIE since 2009. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and is also a Certified Floodplain Manager from State of Texas. He was awarded the “Floodplain Manager of the Year 2008” from the Texas Floodplain Management Association (TFMA). He received his PhD in Geological Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, Rapid City, South Dakota. He obtained his Master’s degree in Water Resources Engineering from Bangalore University, India and obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the same university.
